half of my inventory is missing, ive cleared caches

Darn.  That's a true problem, then.  Your inventory is probably still safe on the Linden Lab servers, but it's not downloading properly.  Maybe it's really huge (like, over 50K)?  The larger your inventory is, the longer is takes to download and, statistically, the greater the probability that it can be damaged if your connection does something odd.  At this point, double check your connection -- not the bandwidth, but the Ping time and Packet Loss (in your Statistics Bar at CTRL + Shift + 1) -- and take the precautionary steps of rebooting your router and modem and getting off of wireless.  Try manually clearing cache again.  If that still doesn't work, you should probably consider becoming a Premium member for a month or so, so that you have access to Live Chat and the technical categories for support cases.  You may need their help.
