Is there a way to create a second inventory?

No.  You can create as many folders and subfolders as you like, to create your own internal filing system, or you can let your alt take care of some types of inventory while you take care of the rest.  (My alt is very kind about doing that.)

You can't create a second INVENTORY, but you CAN create a second Inventory WINDOW.  This is in the gear menu in your inventory window.  Having two inventory windows open at once can greatly speed up relocating items...just drag from one window and drop into their new location in the second one.
