Caleb, on 15.11.07.307443 which is due to go to the RC's on Wednesday, most of my animations AND a lot of the official BVH animations from http://static-secondlife-com.s3.amazonaws.com/downloads/avatar/bvh_files.zip are refusing to upload - they are giving an "Upload_InvalidAsset" - "references unknown joints" error on upload.

I filed a JIRA issue: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-10667

I'd like to think that LL would not be so foolish as to roll that RC channel software with such a glaring BUG in it.

Some positive feedback would be comforting.

It's not as if Whirly goes around prophesying the falling of the sky, now is it?  :smileysurprised:

Mind you, by the same token this is a BUG that QA really should have picked up. :smileyfrustrated:

OK...so now there IS to be an RC roll, but tomorrow.  Would it be unreasonable to ask WHAT is to be rolled?  Has the original software been debugged or is this a whole new ball game?

@Whirly, may I get a copy of that hat now, please?  :smileysurprised:

I'm so confused. As of 1:20 p.m. today, the cancelled RC rolls have been scheduled for tomorrow, November 11th, but today is the 11th and tomorrow is the 12th. People who do support just want to know whether or not to call in sick. :smileywink:

[uPDATED] Rolling Maintenance RC Server Channels

[updated 1:20 PM PST, 11 November 2015] Rolling maintenance for RC Server Channels has been rescheduled for 7:00 AM PST tomorrow, November 11th.

Yeah I know, I was actively involved in checking that Whirly's bug doesn't manifest in the new build :) I'll be updating this post. Sorry about the confusion

I just wanted to make a note here about what's going to happen on the RC regions after the roll to 15.11.11.307649 for Firestorm & CtrlAltStudio users on OLD viewer versions. This will affect any viewer forked from an old Firestorm codebase.

The only version of Firestorm viewer affected is Firestorm 4.4.2 (34167). The other affected versions are already blocked from login. Firestorm 4.6.9, 4.7.1 and 4.7.3 are not affected.

The Linden Lab viewer is not affected, even old versions.

One of the changes in the RC is "Back end enforcement of attachment point ids".

This will break the Firestorm Bridge attachment on Firestorm 4.4.2 on the RC regions because it uses a non-standard "Bridge" attachment point.

This is expected behaviour and it's not going to be fixed. The fix is to update your viewer to the latest Firestorm release.

If you do not want to update your viewer, you will need to disable the Bridge and keep it disabled.

On Firestorm 4.4.2, go to Avatar -> Preferences -> Firestorm -> General -> Untick "Enable LSL-Client bridge" -> Apply -> OK  and detach the Bridge attachment.

Anyone who logs into an RC region on Firestorm 4.4.2 with the Bridge enabled will be "rocked". The bridge attachment will fail to finish creating and you will be left wearing the medium round rock from the Library - it's not a good look :smileywink:
