If a stranger in another country asks for 50 lindens, is it a scam?

So long as the L$50 transfer happens by you simply paying the other resident, there's no risk (other than the money you gift). If you are asked to touch an object that then asks to debit Lindens from your account, DENY IT!

The RL analogy to this would be:

"Brother, can you spare a dime?", upon which you flip a dime into her cup.

vs.

"Brother, can you spare the password to your online bank?", upon which you answer "Nope!".

it's nearly sure there's no danger to give him 50L by paying his avatar. If it's wise to do is a second thing .... it's basic begging.

When people are able to buy a machine to play SL on, ( around 400 dollars at least) ... they are able to spend a little and upload some money too....a CC isn't needed.

When they meet 10 people like you a day... well x7 is a nice income for SL .....
