PeterCanessa Oh
For mainland travellers, especially the sailors and aviators, SL wind is too flukey to take seriously and the lack of any other weather features possibly too dull. I am now working on a web-based system for charting areas of SL and tracking traffic. Tthis leads to the possibility of regional, rather than sim- or parcel-based weather patterns. [Leaving aside those sims that are permanently dark/snow/etc. and the limitations of Windlight]. The basic system is, object in SL sends request to server just saying "I'm here", server replies with "weather there is: ...." (WWC and any other protocols that turn out to be popular when I get to it).Anyone feel like drawing weather maps and indicating what the conditions would be like at certain points? Amateur meteorologists could have fun with this. On the other hand, women willing to show off a warm front are always welcome. And apart from that, what thoughts do you all have about wide-area weather patterns? Peewee Musytari
In best Michael Fish voice, /me says: "Earlier on today, apparently, a woman rang the BBC and said she heard there was a hurricane on the way; well, if you're watching, don't worry, there isn't"
PeterCanessa Oh
A classic of our times. And your comments on the idea of regional weather? (Come on, if you know Michael Fish you must be British and that means you'll always talk about the weather)
Peewee Musytari
LOL I resemble that remark I actually like the idea of more varied weather. Could be hard to set up on already established sims, especially if there were lots of owners that didn`t agree to it. Maybe a new continent with seasonal weather would be good. Blot Brickworks
Good idea but I hate it when the rain comes straight through the roof...............
