Logged as a Merchant User kills Featured Items and My Shop on Marketplace web pages

When I log on using an accout that's a Merchant User, I find that the Marketplace web pages no longers displays

the featured items on any page, and when I go to My Store, it shows no items on the store page.

 

However I get the all the full pages when I'm not logged on, or when I use an account that is not the Merchant User.

 

This occurs on Chrome and on Firefox.
