i have created 100+ models for sl in past and have good experience is creating 3d mesh models but with my past two models i have been facing a new issue with my texture, everything is fine with the model with UV mapping and all,but when i select a face and add texture to my model i get weird result,Tested with both rigged and un-rigged models.

This only happens when i try to add texture by selecting the face, everything is normal when i unlink and add texture to individual parts.

i have attached the photo of my problem.

my workflow is modeling in maya 2010 and rigg + export in blender 2.72

Any help will be appreciated

Thank you

Most likely too many triangles (>21844) in a material. See last message in this thread. and this jira. After 21844 triangles, the uploader makes a new "secret" material that behaves oddly. Which triangles get assigned to it depends on the way the 3D program orders them. Subdivision can produce checkered or Serpinski-like patterns. It's best to never use more than 21844 triangles (10922 quads etc) per material if you want to avoid these artefacts and remain in control of texturing.
