Creating a new shirt

I'm trying to create a basic shirt and alter it, but I cannot get it to be visible on my avatar. I'm able to create the new shirt and wear it, but I just don't see it on my avatar and nobody else does either. Even if I take off the default shirt my avatar comes with, I still do not see tne new one. Can anyone explain why this might be happening and a way around it?

Are you using the default avi or one of the mesh? If mesh, it's not going to work. Mesh requires appliers to apply the texture onto the mesh attachment.

 

What you are making is a system shirt and will only show up on the default system avi. If you are new and are still wearing the mesh avi SL gives you to start with, take it off and replace it with one of the classic avis in your library to get started. You can tweak that to look the way you want it to. There are no clothes or skins that will work with that mesh avi so get rid of it and let it become just a bad memory.
