No, you can't combine prims. A Linden home is basically a 512sqm plot, which - with a few exceptions - hold 117 prims. A Linden home isn't necessarily meant to be your permanent home, unless you want it to be. It'll get you started, but really, you're intended to outgrow it and want more space. A Linden home also isn't the only - or even the greatest - benefit to being a premium member.
What you CAN do is each purchase an empty 512sqm plot, side by side. You can either create a group and deed the land to the group, or simply allow one another to rez on the land/whitelist one another. A 1024sqm plot holds 234 prims - twice the amount of a 512 plot. Slight additional charge - you have to buy the land. It's not usually that expensive, though, and since you get EITHER a Linden home OR a 512sqm plot for "free" (minus the previously mentioned land purchase fee for the latter), it won't cost you much more.
