Upgrading to premium

Hello every body.

A friend of my has been given an avatar from a player who had age verified it.

Now, the new owner wants to upgrade this account to premium.

Will he have a problem doing this, given that the previous owner gave different personal details to verify.

As far as I know it is against the rules to give, sell or trade Avatars to anyone for any reason.

Unless you died and filled out the right forms, in that case someone could have your Avatar. :smileysurprised:

Keli is correct, you cannot give accounts away, tis a no no.

My advice is that your friend cancel the account immediatly. Then register a fresh new avatar and fill in his/her own information.

Better do it now, instead of investing a lot of money in the avatar (maybe buying land) and LL finds out and ban the avatar that was traded/given away.

As far as I know, he was given the avatar for free and that is was a basic account. I guess he will have to read the TOS about giving avatars. He told me that the previous owner just didnt use the avatar anymore and felt bad to delete it.

But I would like to ask, given from the responses, it seems to me that its forbidden to use other persons avatars, even if there is a consent. Is there a possiblity that I get banned, for using a friends avatar, whose password was given to me by him?

Considering you aren't ever supposed to transfer an account, I would say he will have a huge problem.  So this is one of the ways the kiddies are circumventing age verification these days, eh?

The new owner would be well advised to age verify their own account, or stick to whatever age restricted areas they are allowed.

It is a bad idea. I have heard that LL can freeze your account until you prove it's yours if "your avatar" suddenly logs in from another part of the country, or another part of the world. They suspect it's hacked. Sharing your password is not allowed, period.

I know about a dozen girlfiends who log in their boyfriends avatars to shop for them, edit hair and such things. It is a bit like speed driving - it is tempting and you know about ppl who do it all the time. But try to say that to the cop who stops you?

This is not a case of circumventing age verficiation. As I wrote before, the guy wants to buy premium (therefore, to use his own ID and credit card). He wanted to know if he will have any trouble doing this, because the account was already verified by its previous owner.

I ve already told him to check this thread, so, he decided its better to delete the account, in order to be safe.
