Resident exercising threats and DDOS attacks

Hello,
For some weeks, we are faced with a person conducting DDOS attacks on several regions at parties and events, with complete impunity.

 

This person claims explicitly that he performs DDOS attacks. Using voice, he explains very clearly and coldly that he can crash the regions as well as avatars (on this last point about crashing avatars we have not yet been able to verify). During an event, that person came asking us to evacuate immediately within 10 seconds because he was going to crash the region, and that is what he did. I made a screenshot of the viewer in the crash where we also see the evacuation order in the local chat.

 

This person acts without hiding and with great cynicism, by the way his avatar was born in 2010.

 

We wanted to make an abuse report to inform the Linden authorities, but no category in the abuse report choice seems appropriate for this behavior. On the other hand we would like to especially point out the total impunity with which he acts.

 

Do you know what help we can expect from Linden Lab to counter this extreme behavior. We've heard of "ip ban", but does it really exist? What do we have to do?

Submit your AR's using the closest relevant topic heading.  Linden Lab will sort it out.  Everyone who has relevant information should submit an AR.  Include any evidence (photos, chat logs, .... ).  Do not speculate, or embellish.  Just a good, factual report.  Linden Lab will take it from there.

Just wanted to add that after you submit an abuse report, Linden Lab does not respond back to you regarding the action that they take on the report.

There is such a thing as an IP ban, yes.  In extreme cases, LL can also impose a MAC address ban, which identifies the hardware of the offender's computer and prevents anyone using that machine from accessing Second Life.
