I'm gonna side with you on this Pamela. As many years as I've been taking and solving customer problems, this sort of mysterious vanishing is always on the side of "oh I forgot about ..." answer.

Although those unicorn farts sound mighty plausible too.

Also, Alwin's guess is a good one, wrt whole items vanishing, or things reverting to an earlier state. A few weeks ago LL did some kind of unscheduled maintenance which wiped out hours of work my assistant did reorganzing displays in my accessories dept. Poof, all gone.

Or the culprit discovered a mistake in the OP's vendors or settings and was taking advantage of it.  

It's still possible there is a security flaw, but ALL the other possibilities need to be removed first.
