The laptop I have has Fedora 21, and, unfortunately, I wasn't really given the option pertaining to if I even wanted it or not. I was given this laptop with Linux already installed, and upon further investigation, it turns out it might not even be possible to install windows.

Anyways, I can't figure out how to install SL on my laptop. I haven't been able to install anything onto my laptop outside of the software from the 'store'. I'm getting increasingly frustrated with this, and I was hoping I could install SL without issues, but apparently not. ./secondlife and the install.sh only open up text files, and I want to throw my laptop.

Download a viewer of your choice, unpack it , navigate to the folder you extracted this data to and locate a file called (viewername), where (viewername) is the name of your viewer, may it be  secondlife, firestorm, singularity, kokua  or whatever viewer you prefer.
Right click that (viewername) file and make sure it is executable.
Then, just run that (viewername) file by doubleclicking it and you should have a running viewer.
J.
