Alwin Alcott Posted July 17, 2015 Share Posted July 17, 2015 it means just what it says ... can't connect to a simulater (=sim) 1- try logging to another place 2- if that doesn't help, log off, shut down pc, reboot modem/router, than wiat till modem/router is ready, turn on your pc and restart the viewer ... 3- if those not help... wait patiently and try again in a few minutes... hours... Ohjiro Watanabe Posted July 17, 2015 Share Posted July 17, 2015 Usually "unable to connect to the simulator" means that the sim is down, i.e. the server computer that is running the simulator software for the region that you are trying to log into is not connected, turned off, re-booting etc. It is quite common as the server software is updated most weeks. Information about maintenance is posted here: http://status.secondlifegrid.net. Usually they go down for about half an hour, but if they need to fiddle around with them it can be an hour or more. If you manage to log onto some other sim that is not being updated and open the world map you may see that there are squares on the map that are a sort of dirty red colour.
