Moonlight, you are only getting your message to a tiny percentage of SL users, so you shouldn't let the fact you haven't gotten an answer here mean much. Very few residents even know these forums exist, let alone spend any time reading them.

I'm afraid you're just going to have to meet people the same way everyone does, by going places where people are. Not just clubs, either. Take classes. Do stuff. Keep looking. Good people exist. They sometimes get out-shouted by the not-so-good in SL, I think because SL lets not-so-good people get right out front—they don't feel the need to 'keep up appearances'. That does make them easier to spot, which is good.

Don't quit.

Funny, I ain't desperate but was wondering if any nice, decent gals out in SLland [sic]?

PS That question mark reads as if it is so misplaced, your opinion?  Inside the sic or outside?

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking but I've been inside the sic for years now.

Outside.

It would only go inside if the phrase in the parenthesis was its own question.

"Normally a sentence’s final punctuation mark—whether period, exclamation point, or question mark—goes outside such a parenthesis (like this). However, if the material inside the parenthesis requires a concluding punctuation mark like an exclamation point or question mark (but not a period!), that mark is placed inside the closing mark even though another mark is outside it. This latter sort of thing is awkward, however, and best avoided if you can help it."

Inside the sic or outside?

1) Yes. *points to self and 2) Outside (must we review this again?)  :matte-motes-bored:

You might want to take a walk through Mr. Lysette's post history. I think you'll find it enlightening informative.

Enlightening implied light; wrong word.

How would you like me to appear?

Alec - to avoid such clumsy constructions with unturgid prose.

It's actually absolutely unnecessary; the sentence is a statement, not a question.

Alec - to state the non-obvious.

I have always had this little feeling deep inside that Dres was a troll.  Thank you for helping me find some clarity.

Don't you just hate trolls, Quinn?

Unless the OP meant to inflect uncertainty in the statement.

I think the OP wanted us to read that 'up' inflection at the end of her sentence.

I tend towards Occam's Razor; the OP is semi-literate.

Alec - to read the words, rather than have vague imaginings of accidental competence.
