I have placed sell orders and have not received payment and my L$ are gone What is going on?

Check your balance in the Lindex. Sell orders only go by the rates going lowest at the moment (for example right now $247/$1.00 has L$249,122,066 to be sold first before anyone else can sell at that rate, so I would sell mine at $248/$1.00 to sell them fast). Sure i get a tad less than going rate, but its a fast sell.

When you sell L$, the amount from the sale will show up in your US dollar balance on your Account page. Net proceeds from your sales of Linden Dollars remain as credit on your Second Life account, and this credit is automatically applied to your account fees. If you do not wish to apply your Linden Dollar sales proceeds to your fees, you may withdraw this portion of your account credit through a real-world payment. (See Process Credit)

Your $L are not gone.  Once you place a limit sell order, that amount of $L is "tied up" in the order, and no longer shows up in your account.  If the order isn't filled fast enough to suit you, you can go to the Lindex section of your Dashboard, click Manage/$L Order History, and cancel your active order.  Then make a new order at a price more likely to sell quickly.

There are no sell orders to cancel, my paypal has not been credited and my L$ are gone .... there used to be an 800 number for the billing office .
