Assuming it's mainland: You need to find out how much land there is, in m2, and look it up on the table at the bottom of this page: https://secondlife.com/my/account/landfees.php

For example, if the parcel is more than 4096m2 and up to 8192m2, it will cost you and extra US$40 per month.  You must also be a Premium account holder, and pay the fees for that in addition to tier.

Tier is not calculated on individual parcels, it is calculated based on the TOTAL amount of Mainland that you own...the maximum amount you held at any point in the billing cycle.  So, if you own a 512 m2 parcel, buy a second one, and immediately sell the first, for that month you are billed for 1024 m2.

The tier table in Rolig's answer is a good reference, but one thing the table does not tell you is that you aren't charged tier for the first 512 m2 that you own.  So, if you own 512 m2, you pay $0, if you own 1024 m2, you pay $5 (on the second 512 m2).  For larger parcels, the bonus isn't enough to get you to the next lower level, but you can use it to own MORE than the tier table amount without paying extra.  For example, if you own 2048 m2, you can buy another 512 m2 and own a total of 2570 m2, while still paying the 2048 rate of $15 per month.

Another thing the tier table doesn't tell you is that if you deed the land to a group and then donate your tier to the group to cover the upkeep, you can own even more land.  Groups get a 10% tier bonus, so with our 2048 example, if you own land through a group you could have a maximum of (2048+512) x 1.10 = 2816 m2, and pay just $15 per month!  If you go this route, create the group, and invite your own alt to join it as its second member.  This keeps the group from being automatically disbanded.  Also, never give the Owner role to anyone except you and/or your alt.  This is much safer than relying on another friend.  Only one account, the one that donates the tier, needs to be Premium.
