I can't get other people to view my avatar correctly. Rebaking textures doesn't work. Help?

Each time I try to put something on my avatar, SOMETHING goes wrong with a texture. Rebaking textures, changing skins, changing clothes, changing appearance, changing viewers, changing groups, sitting down, clearing cache, relogging, teleporting - nothing seems to be working. What could be causing this and how do I fix it?

The general answer is that you have a faulty Internet connection. Whenever you make any change to your avatar's appearance, the change takes place on your own computer and then has to be baked and uploaded to SL's servers so that other people can see it. If information is lost during the upload, you will still see the changes yourself, because your graphics card is using the cached information on your own computer, but no one else will.  Take a look HERE at a pretty good explanation and some suggestions about how to beat the problem.

Have you tried uninstalling and deleting all client-created folders/directories before reinstalling? See http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/How_do_I_fully_uninstall_and_reinstall_Second_Life%3F for folder locations.

I've tried every solution on the page you've provided, (and i am not exaggerating about this. I literally went down the list; top to bottom and each fix has failed to resolve the issue) but the problem still persists. Thank you for your support.

Which viewer are you using? and are the people that can`t see you correctly using different viewers?
