I can't interact with user-created HUD's.

Hello, I'm having a moderate technical issue in Second Life.

Right now I am unable to interact with user-created HUD's, I can click the buttons all I want and nothing ever happens.

There is one exception though, if I hold down the "Fly Up" (Page Up) key, then I can interact with user-made HUD's a limited amount, but it's very difficult to use them effectively.

Any help would be appreciated, I'm a pretty new player, so all my settings are at a fresh install default.

I guess I'll ask a fairly basic question.  Does the SIM where you are trying to "interact" with the HUDs allow scripts ?

 

In a SIM where scripts are not allowed, most HUDs will not operate properly.

I'll ask a old question I should know but forgot. Can you enable scripts by flying up above the no scripts area?
It's the abuse at the Public areas where I remember that ability was removed.

The performance of most of the HUD's I've used has usually been based on the performance of the Region I was using it in.

Find a low traffic area with scripts enabled. You can use Search/places, search term: Sandboxes Look for one with low traffic.

I'm assuming that you ARE flying up when you do this, and then suddenly the HUD starts working again?

this means you are in a no script area, which ends ~100m above the ground of the parcel with "no-script" set... and if go to a different parcel you shouldn't have any problems.

you can tell this is set from the icon to the right the parcel name at the top of the screen (its a smal scroll icon with a red circle and line symbol at the bottom)... if you mouseover the symbol it will tell you it's meaning

yes, but only scripts that take control will remain enabled when you fly back down....

 

there is a separate region setting for turning off all scripts, which goes to all heights
