can't get on SL with any viewer on my new PC

It says DNS can not resolve the host name.  I've tried all the fixes suggested online but it just ain't happenin'.  This sucks.

Hate to be a pain but could you list the fixes that you`ve tried along with your operating system and anti virus software.

There`s been a rash of cases like yours recently reported in jira, such as;

Oh Ouch! I understand. Just to be thorough, did you run all the tests to make sure that your PC wasn't directly being hijacked by any known DNS  redirector?

The reason I ask is because I read on Monday about a lot of ISPs that are effectively "Poisoning" the DSN functions of their customers as a matter of policy and this can have a detrimental effect on your ability to get proper DNS resolution for your SL software.

Of course this is where the recommendation to hard program your DNS Servers resolution of choice to external services like the Google Public DNS Servers [8.8.8.8 - 8.8.4.4] for each IP protocol.

Canging your DNS is a good idea. Completely bypassing your ISP's DNS servers may be OK or create problems. I recommend keeping your ISP's DNS as a second or third entry in the list.
