can't download second life

Unsure why you think we would know more about your computer than you do.

You don't mention operating system or browser, or any connection info. Can't help you.

Some general guesses and often overlooked stuff:-

• Check downloads of other applications work, or try using right-click Save Target As... (in Chrome/Chromium, similar wording in other browsers) and saving the .exe to disk first, and double-check you're attempting to download the version of Second Life that's correct for your PC and operating environment.
• Also make sure you're not using a mobile OS like ChromeOS, Android, OS X for iPad/iPhone, Windows 8 RT and the like. Second Life requires a full installation of a PC-grade operating system.
• You should also check anti-virus settings.

What sort of computer are your trying to run the SL viewer on?  Does it meet the System Requirements?  Did you download the correct version (PC/Mac/Linux) for your computer?

windows vista premium 32bt with amd athlon 64x2 dual core processor 5000+ & 2gb of ram 1tb hard drive nvidia geforce 6150se nforce 430 its all old ^^; but not by much tho

Hmmmm.. It's not all that old, except for the OS, so it's probably not your computer. You may have just somehow scrambled the file on download.
