lolashwrites 0 Posted January 14, 2015 I know there's all these DJ programs out there, however I own a fashion show production company and only have a need to stream custom playlists during shows. I currently have a radio streaming on the land, but of course I can't control what music it plays and if it plays the wrong music then it could completely ruin a show.I need advice on this as I'm not quite sure what to do. Should I just hire a DJ until I can figure out how to stream custom playlists using Shoutcast and whatever other DJ software there is? Or is there a much easier way to do that? dd Temin 0 Posted January 14, 2015 Hi, Do you own the parcel of land that you want to control the music audio on??? If you do the music http can be set in "about land".....audio window/ You can search the internet for http music stations that have free access. If you dont own the land.......then request that the land owner put your music station. Have the land owner put a music player that can be controled by group members or publc. dd
lolashwrites 0 Posted January 14, 2015 I do own the land. This isn't exactly the question I was asking. I know how to change radio stations and currently have one playing. My question is...how do I play my own music? If the radio station switches to a song that is off beat or a completely different tone, it could ruin an entire fashion show. I know HOW to play it through my land, but how do I play my own music?

doctor Shackleton 0 Posted January 16, 2015 In order to play your own music, you need to subscribe to a streaming service you can customize external to SL. Or, in other words, you need to get your own internet radio station. There are a few options available that are moderately priced, especially if you are going to have just a few listeners. Most of the ones I am aware of are paid for, month to month. Once you have a subscription, you can then upload your own music, typically mp3 files and create your own playlists. You can find these services available either through an internet search or in world. Good luck!

There is a WIKI topic that should help you. However it's not very current regarding the software available. For example it mentions SimpleCast which appears to be gone now. There's software not mentioned called Broadcast Using This Tool (butt). It's multi-platform and can be used for free. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Streaming_Music
