Isnt there a deal where you can see how many are at a SL event or club without being there

The quick answer is "Kind of"

Here's how:  Find the club's LM in your Landmarks folder. Right-Mouse Click on it and select the See on Map option.

You can get an idea how many people are at the club by looking at how many [green dots] are on the Parcel on the Region the club is on. The servers that a Region is located on do an "agent count" refresh that is published to the Grid Map System. These are updated very frequently.
