Yeah I clicked on the link hoping for more info, but not even the other stories had any.

I found this page, that also contains that picture.  Near the bottom is another picture of a guy with a little bit of frost starting to build on his eyelashes, so I guess it is possible.

OK that makes sense. It's not quite that cold here this morning but I was frozen enough to have difficulty wrapping my brain around it.

Some of those pictures are just stunning, esp the one of the ballerina. "it didn't take long and he had a warm coat and valenki - felt boots - for her to put on immediately afterwards."

Who goes outside with wet eyelashes?? Or is it from mascara? Or staged?

I was wondering the same thing, but then I was remembering that when I go out walking in (what I consider*) very cold weather, the cold makes my eyes water, which I suppose would make my eyelashes wet, or at least damp.  I was also thinking that having frozen eyelashes must make it hard to blink, which doesn't seem like it would be very good for one's eyes.

* I don't live where it gets very cold, so I consider anything in the low 30's F to be 'very cold'.  I think the coldest temp that I've been in would be around 17F, and that was when we were coming over the Sierra Nevadas in the winter one time, and had to stop because of car problems.

Here is the youtube video that goes with the picture, showing the girl blinking rapidly.

I remember being outside with Dad in subzero weather and watching all of his facial hair grow frost. He'd grow a layer of frost on his mustache that he could blow open like a doggie door flap. I at least had the pleasure of sporting a ponytail that was longer than his.

Ice on various exposed bits of hair isn't particularly annoying until you come back indoors and it starts to melt.  As long as you're outside, it just flakes off from time to time. o.O

As a colleague of mine used to tell newcomers occasionally, "We don't have a weather problem.  You have a wardrobe problem."  A bit snotty, but true.

Interesting...  Thinking about it more, it's probably more like frost - so light - rather than ice like icicles.  I don't think I would want to go anywhere that was that cold, though, just to test that out :)

We were living in central NY state when I was in the 5th - 9th grades. One winter I wanted to get my hair cut, Mom agreed and I ended up with a super cute shoulder length style. We didn't have it blow dried though so from the time it took to walk from the salon to the car, the entire underside of my hair turned into a frozen rat's nest.

You're a kitty, remember?

Good morning all! Ugh! It's Monday! Have some coffee and root beer floats to take the edge off of this horrible day!

You think plying me with a root beer float will absolve you from calling Monday horrible?

I suppose I can't chastise you for being right, but I'm workin' on it!

Happy Monday, Kids!!!
