Why is voice disabled for Pakistan?

There's a big Sl community there, Plz they need the voice option enabled..its really not fair ..i hope something positive is done about it!

Are you sure that voice is disabled in Pakistan, I've never heard of anything like that before. Did you try debugging your voice? Take a look at the information on this page:

I would have thought that there would be a riot going on if LL started disabling voice by country.

It is disabled coz its not an issue faced by one but all the users...unfortunately takes the fun out of using SL then...really wish something was done about it.

Linden Lab is not blocking Vivox Services as a matter of policy.

Pakistan authorities may have decided to block access to the Vivox Voice Server farm as a matter of national policy.

Try pinging one of the Vivox Voice DNS Servers as follows:

1) On a Windows PC - Start / Run / CMD

2) Type "ping DNS2A.VIVOX.COM"

3) Observe the results to see if this is successful.

If this fails then Vivox is blocked in your country.

I am having big issues as well.......I have been in SL for over 7 years now and for 2 days I have tried everything.   I took a pic of my prefs and the greyed out :chat" button in the lower right.......people say they see no chat dot over my head anymore.
