How to apply textures to Marketplace clothing to (enrich) from being thinned

Question

Some items for using & wear have "holes", like seeing a shirt under a jacket. Pants have "holes" to see the avatars body.

How can a texture be applied to a clothing item, to fully (enrich) covering the holes.

Some holes are slight, others are large; even with wearing L & XL sizings.

Ral,

The holes you are seeing are parts of your underlying avatar's body that are poking through the Mesh Clothing surface. Mesh clothiers usually include several sizes of Mesh outfits in order for you to select as the base size for use with standard avatar shapes. If you are still poking through then make sure you are wearing the Mesh Alpha Texture [if included] or edit your shape to reduce the size of the offending body part.

Mesh Alpha Textures are usually supplied to erase the part of your shape that is physically very close to the surface of the clothing item.

To add to KarenMichelle's answer...

You say that your body pokes thru your clothes, even if you wear XL sizes.  This makes me suspect that you are still wearing one of the "starter avatars" that you begin Second Life with.  These avatars are themselves mesh objects that are worn over your "regular" shape like a rubber suit.  They are not readily customizable and will not work with most SL clothing, either the older layer-type clothing or mesh outfits.

I recommend you change to one of the "classic" avatars as a starting point.  Click the Avatars button (top button, left side of your screen, with the symbol of two people on it.)  Choose from the "classic" set of avatars.

Next, go to the Marketplace and get yourself a free set of the Standard Mesh Sizing shapes.  Pick one you like, wear it, and use the Appearance/Edit Shape menus to customize your facial features to your liking.  Don't do much if any editing of the body, however.  You want it to remain close to one of the Standard Mesh sizes.  Save your work and give it a name, say "MyShape12122014."

Now you should be able to wear Mesh clothing of the same size as your shape with fewer holes.  However, there will seldom be NO holes, so you will still have to wear the Alpha Mask clothing layer that comes with the mesh outfit.
