invalid characters

I wish to change my display name using ASCII fonts and symbol characters but when I try to apply my name I get the message "the display name you wish to set contains invalid characters." How can I get my display name to accept ASCII fonts and symbol characters?

Come on, now.  The English language has thirty six alphanumeric characters.  There are millions of words to choose from created from these characters, plus you have the ability to make up new words of your own, such as "Forple" or "Dorfpunker".  If that's not enough, Second Life supports German, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, and Japanese.

Not all ASCII Characters are supported by SL.  You are using at least one that isn't.  If you go ahead with this be sure your name is readable or that you don't mind being called Tanya.

I'll add my advice to the others.  Special symbols in names are AWFUL.  You can't pronounce them, you can't remember them, and most people can't type them back to you.

Stick with the alphabet, please.  And a few numbers, if you really must.

   Perhaps Dagger isn't an acceptable alpha-numeric character?
