My Second Life viewer is simply refusing to start after the latest upgrade !

When I click on the icon, it first shows detecting hardware, then initialialising textures, then initializing VHS and then ... nothing on the screen ! Just the blank wallpaper

I am using Windows 7 and had been using SL on this machine as recently as a month back. Since then, I have installed VMWare on this machine and the NCH Debut Screen capture software. 

Also I have AVG anitivirus running on this machine but AVG has been here for a very long time

The latest viewer release seems rather a mess for many. People are finding that reverting to a previous version, switching to a project channel viewer or switching to a third party viewer gets them going again, though reverting isn't quite straightforward.

All most everyone so far that I know of is having this problem, as I have also

But there is an alternative here http://www.firestormviewer.org/downloads/ where you will be able to log in again.
