In general, it comes down to "Can you use this card to do recurring payments?"  If the answer is no, then you can't, end of story.  If the answer is yes, then the answer is probably.  See your cardholder documentation for details.

It's just the way cards work.  If you ever have to give a credit card to be on file, then it must be able to accept recurring payments.  This isn't Second Life specific or an LL policy, it's just how credit cards work.

Link it in your paypal and you can use it that way.  I've used gift cards that way for a long time
