You are likely suffering from "bake fail". Here's a recent thread dealing with that problem. In particular, read Rolig and Nalates suggestions...

hi

your garphics need updating or your internet need a restart

first shut down the internet wait 5 mins and restart it

then open your preferances

control and P

open the tabs on the left you are looking for caches button

click that to clear your caches.

then restart the viewer

you may appear as a cloud at first

but that will clear

if not

top of the page

open the  Knowledge base

look for graphics crad on page 2

in there you see green words

ATi Drivers

NV Drivers

intel Drivers

there lots more support for other graphics cards, but they are the most  comman

click on the words, as they are a link to the updated graphics card drivers
