Why after creating a market store I am unable to place any items in merchant outbox?

There's a note in the instructions for setting up a store that might explain it:

32px-KBwarning.pngWarning: After creating your store, you must restart your Second Life Viewer before attempting to upload items to the Marketplace website using the Merchant outbox.
