Can I request to have a linden home in a particular location in-world?

Are all Linden Homes obtained via random selection of the location? I wish to have a Linden Home next to the sea. I will definitely enjoy SL much much more.

Totally random.  You can choose your preferred style, but the specific house you are awarded is at random among those available in that style. At the moment, there are 40,707 occupied Linden Homes and a sizeable number of unoccupied ones, so "random" covers a lot of territory. 

You have two choices: (1) you can abandon that home -- pick up all your stuff first -- and choose a different one, or (2) buy a parcel anywhere on the Mainland and build the home of your choice on it.  If you choose the first option, you may abandon and reselect Linden Homes up to 5 times a day until you get one that you like.  If you decide to build your own home, you can apply your Premium land fee waiver toward paying the monthly land fees on that parcel instdad of using it to rent a Linden Home.  There are advantages to each choice.
