Each SL account is completely separate from other accounts.  It makes no difference whether two accounts are owned by the same person or whether they are owned by different people.  Your alt can be partnered with anyone he wants to, just as your main account can.

While Rolig is certainly correct, there are some serious sociological problems with having two SL partnerships, even if one is with your main account and the other is with your alt.

First, there's the simple problem of time.  Any partnership takes time and attention to keep alive, just like a Real Life marriage.  Splitting yourself between two partners means that you shortchange them both.  Such neglect tends to shorten the duration of a partnership.

Second, there's a moral question.  Do your partners know what you are up to?  If not, you are cheating on them both, you treacherous so-and-so.  Shame on you.

On the other hand, if they DO know, and are OK with it, consider merging your partnership into a threesome.  The SL partnership system only allows you one "official" partner at a time, but that does not mean that you cannot have more than one partner in every sense that matters.  I was very proud and happy to be part of a three-way union that lasted for four years.  If you can avoid jealousies, a threesome has some very real advantages...such as two of the partners being able to be together, even if the third cannot be in world at a given time.
