Is it possible to wear both bought hair and a hat at the same time ?

Question

No it's not impossible. You simply need to attach the hat on another attachment spot (for instance nose or mouth) by right-clicking on the object in inventory and select "Attach to", then right click on the hat and select "Edit" and move it into the correct position. You should use a posing stand for this so your avatar stays in a fixed position and doesn't move around because it makes it easier to adjust the hat.

Right click the hat in your inventory and select attach to, then use your chin ( if you use your nose you can not wear glasses) and attach it. Then right click the hat on your avatar and adjust it until it is in the correct position and rotation on your head. Viola, hat and hair at the same time. Since it remembers the attachment point, you should only have to do this once, from then on, you just wear it.

Not a good idea! People not using Emerald will see the hat floating around you because their viewers don't know about the secondary attachment spots. You should only use those spots for invisible attachments!

you could use the emerald viewer, it had double the attachment area.  you could attach it to the second spot on your head, so it actually moves with you head and not with another body part.

Other viewers have problems showing the additional attachmentpoints with scary side effects.

A very common confusion with that attachment points in Emerald: Forget how see you who do not use Emerald .

By the way, once you do adjust it into place, detach it and then put it back on. That will save the attachment settings. If you don't do that and you crash, the hours of adjusting are all for naught as the item will reattach as it did in the beginning.

Good luck,

Aurie
