how to invite a new person to my place

how do i get the url to give to a few people who do not yet have accounts so they can register and then visit my place?

Step 1: Stand in your land and open your map view

Step 2: Click the Copy SLURL button

Step 3:  Save that SLURL by pasting it into a notecard or a file in your own computer.

Step 4: Wait until your friends get accounts, install a viewer, and log in.

Step 5:  Copy the saved SLURL and send it to them.

There are variations on this plan.  You could save a Landmark to hand your friends instead of sending a SLURL, for example.  Also, if your friends' web browsers know what to do with a SLURL, they could log in from the web and end up directly at your home. (That's not always easy, although there's an app to help.)

You can do the following to invite friends into SecondLife and give them your Home SLURL:

Include the www.seconflife.com URL in your email to allow them to access the account creation web page. Be sure to give them a quick walk through as well to help encourage them to bother.

Also, stand on your parcel where you would like them to arrive, then press the map button. There is a Copy SLURL button. Press that and the fully qualified SLURL for that exact place in-world will be copied to your PC clipboard.

Be sure to paste that in the email as well then ask them to select it after they have created an account and have logged in.
