I tried getting into one of the destinations but it will not go. I click and nothing. How can I get to the destinations to interact with others?

Any sim might be off line for maintenance at a given time, so the easiest strategy is to wait a while and see if you have better luck later.  If you know the name of the sim -- you can usually see it by doing a little search for More Information or by doing a mouseover on a link -- then you can use your map view to see whether the sim is in fact unavailable at this time.  Finally, some destinations are only open to Premium members of SL, so you will not be able to travel to them.

Or you might not have the correct Maturity level set...check that in your Preferences, General tab.  You'll need to set them in your Search window too, and on the Marketplace.
