Need help on deciding on a computer that works lovely with SL

There are LOTS of desktops that will run SL very well.  The main considerations are a powerful discrete graphics card (no integrated graphics!) and a fast, reliable internet connection.  Most machines that are advertised as "gaming computers" and are priced at $600 and up will do the trick.

Given the choice, a machine with an NVIDIA GeForce graphics card is preferable.  They tend to work better with SL than the AMD/ATI Radeon cards.

You do NOT have to lay out big bucks for multiple graphics cards ganged together in SLI.  Second Life can't take advantage of more than one graphics card.
