Does anyone have any advice on how to keep gestures minimal and spam free for a new club opening up?

My friends and I are opening a club and we want to make it as spam free as possible and promote conversation in local within reason. We do understand that people chat in smaller groups and all, but we want to make our club a place that people can go to and hang out with the expectation of genuine conversation free of spam. We don't even like gestures all that much, but used judiciously and with the right timing, it has it's place, but only if it takes up no more than one line of chat. 

Does anyone have advice on how we can got about enforcing a minimal gesture/spamming rule for the club diplomatically? We can make signs, but is there anything else out there that people have made that promotes or even rewards real conversation?

Oh Cupidity I do so wish you every success with your new club. The amount of annoying gestures and chat spam at clubs is a real pain. Actually, if you banned gestures and chat spam completely, you may well find you are one of the most succesful clubs on the Grid.

Make the signs!  Then give your hosts the power to enforce the policy by ejecting and/or banning violators.  I suggest a policy of a warning on first offense, an ejection on second offense, and a ban on third offense.
