a message was sent to one of my alternate accounts

I received an offline message from one of my friends on one of my alternate accounts but cant figure out which account it is because i've not been using these accounts for a long time and i think i even forgot the name of some of my old avs.. is there any way i can trace to which avatar it was sent?

Look at the mail headers, specifically the To: line. I believe it should have your avatar's name.

Or, as an alternative to Griff's good suggestion, open the AppData folder in your computer and navigate to Roaming/SecondLife.  Then look for folders with your name or your alt's name on them.  Any messages you have received will be in one of them.
