After switching to Windows 8, and using compatibility mode in Quicktime, I have no media.

I have the latest Flash and Quicktime, even checked off compatibility. Why can I not see or hear media. It keeps saying plug-in failed. Even after reinstalling everything.. I could view it fine on my old Windows.
