Ugh! 'Right-Click > Rename' Again!?

Question

Is there a (Mac) keyboard shortcut to "activate" the name-field of a selected object or folder in the inventory window, instead of mousing 'right-click > rename'?

For instance, on a Mac, while in Finder, hitting 'return' will "activate" the name-field of whichever file or folder is highlighted/selected; hitting 'return' a second time will "deactivate" the selected file or folder name-field.

Hello Gac, looking at the Second Life Wiki article All keyboard shortcut keys, and as far as I know, there doesn't seem to be a shortcut to Rename in the Inventory Window.

There is an ongoing project looking at new shortcuts across the different Operating Systems Shortcuts SL-UX

If you would like to suggest a new shortcut please see pJIRA

pJIRA is a tool for residents to file new features requests as well as bug reports (The "P" stands for Public.) An overview and common questions about pJIRA can be found in the Creating bug reports and feature requests in the Public Issue Tracker

To submit a new feature

The process is similar to submitting a bug, with the following differences:

  • Select "New Feature" instead of "Bug" as your Issue type.
  • Instead of a description how to reproduce, instead clearly describe the desired implementation and functionality that you would like in the new feature. Make sure it hasn't already been done — you can read our blog to learn more about what we're doing next.

Please see the linked issues on the pJIRA Meta-Issue: Shortcut Issues
