If it is on a poster/photo, then click on the creator of the picture and send them an IM or notecard asking if they can tell you where the skin is from. If it was on an avatar, send them a compliment about their skin, and ask if they might have the landmark so your girlfriend can go look at their range. Other responses may follow - indeed someone may recognise the skin and give you further directions. Good dark skins do seem quite scarce inworld, and this one is certainly a beauty.
