"Login Failed. Despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong"

For the past several days, I have been unable to log into SL.   I get the message "Login Failed. Despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong".

I'm running the Firestorm viewer and have tried with the current release as well as the latest Beta.  I've completely deleted and reinstalled the Firestorm app and all cache and settings files.   I've rebooted my computer as well as modem and router.   All other connectivity scores fast and clean on Speedtest and Pingtest.

Frankly I'm stumped.  I've logged in from this same computer and connection without issue for a long time.  Anyone else seeing this or found a fix?

Hi Teagan,

Have you tried logging into another region? You can type the name of one into the li'l box when you log-in. Try "Smith" or "Pooley", those are usually quiet. If that works, then the region you were originally trying to reach may have been closed (it would be odd for a region to be down for so long without LL restarting it). You usually get a different error message when that happens, but I can't think of anything else to try.
