Did you move or change internet services providers?

Are you using a wireless connection that uses land towers? Remote rural areas without land lines.

Are you entering your name and password manually or are you using saved settings?

I'm not familiar with this issue but other residents here may have a solution. Edit: someone like Rolig :smileyhappy:

If you did change ISP's you may have to clear the cache on your pc and un-install SL and then re-install SL. If you forget your password, you can reset it.

I don't have a clue what this is about.  I have just been searching for ideas, but don;t see anything relevant.  I think Knowl's solution is probably the best, though.  Do a complete, clean reinstall of the viewer.  Here's how to do it properly >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-Second-Life/ta-p/1375231

Quite a few threads on the same issue have appeared over the past year or so, mainly from Firestorm users but one comment suggests it was occurring on LL viewers as well (although none of the threads I read referenced the LL viewer).

This is one where the OP posted what solved it for her:

If using a Mac, check out what Ansariel says here:

There is another possible solution as detailed in this SLU thread and it's the only incidence of this solution I've seen so try the full manual uninstall first. Read through this thread and the solution the OP found is in the last post. However, it's likely deleting all the XML files was the solution and not adding Google DNS.

Now, if you want to try adding Google DNS, refer here:
