Why less choices for premium homes?

I noticed there is a half price sale to become Premium. I also notice there are less choices for linden homes.

What is up with that?

Linden Lab runs promotional deals on Premium membership a couple of times a year.  They don't tell anyone how effective any marketing scheme is, of course, but I suspect it's probably a pretty good way to get people to try SL.  

As for Linden Homes, availability of any style changes by the hour.  It always has.  New people are always looking for a home, and people who have them are always looking to trade up to different properties.  If it looks like there's a big unmet demand for one particular style of homes, Linden Lab will occasionally open a new sim full of them. (In mid-summer 2013, there were 1163 sims full of Linden Homes and 40707 Linden Homes were occupied.  That's a lot of homes.  See here for details.)  The bottom line is that shopping for a Linden Home is just like shopping for a RL one. There's no guarantee that the one you want will be on the market today, but it might be there tomorrow.  The big advantage you have in SL is that you can trade in a Linden Home and select a new one up to 5 times a day, with no penalty.  So, if you don't like what you have now, keep trying.
