Seeking tips for RP

Recommended Posts

Hello, there.

I was wondering if any experienced RPers could offer me any advice. How do you keep your storylines, your relationships with other characters, or your day-to-day RP interesting? I've been playing in urban RP sims (mainly Dead End and Crack Den), but I'm a little worried that things are becoming a bit monotonous in both places. Any time I'm online, I RP with the same people and I frequent the same places. I really love RPing in these sims and with these people, but I don't know how to make things feel less repetitive. Anything would be helpful.

Thanks!

Oh indeed...I know that feeling. Especially after years, the same jokes the same repeating rituals, time to break up and install changes. When ever I start feeling that for my characters, I change things...and my character changes along.

Just shooting few ideas .....

1. -small things to do -

Try to let your character meet other chracters in sim. Break with your characters habits, start an argue with someone random on the street, let your character steal something, let your character fall in love with the beggar at the next street corner, visit the local church ( if there is one) , or graveyard ....

2. - long term

Set a personal goal for your character to archive. Since I dont know what the sims offer, its harder to come up with a concrete example. I try one : Your character could start to collect information about a certain person or group - maybe they do something that is against your characters moralic , political , religious or personal ideals... you could start a long term conflict with them .

3. vacations

I used to pack my characters back pack and find a reason (research, mission, find a friend or item ) to leave for a while...start with few days, visiting a similar sim, or several, all in character. When I came back , in ideal case I had had a bag full stories , new friends, allies, goals ...and a brand new point of view.

Would love to hear back from you, if you found a way.  :)
