Yes. I have AMD Radeon HD 6770M and SL is humming happy tunes. So yours should be at least as good. :smileyhappy:

The current 8xxx OEM series of cards are rebadged 7xxx series cards (or possibly as I've read, the 8470 is a rebadged HD Radeon 6450 OEM card) so not new cards, although they have a higher series number. It's a 1GB card with DDR5 memory but all the reports suggest it's a low end OEM card and not great for gaming. I suggest you do some googling on it and make your mind up.

There is no comparison between it and Val's much better card but I expect it would run SL at low to medium graphics level. What I foresee as an immediate problem is that it is not on the current gpu_table so SL won't recognise it.  It's possible Firestorm has it in its gpu_table in which case you can switch the text files.

As it's out for some months now, hopefully someone using it can advise further.
