This thread should be an educational experience for us all; at least, that's how I hope it evolves.
Post an IDIOM.
It could be your favorite idiom, or one that you hate. Perhaps one that is over-used or one in which you find humorous.

I am an American, the idioms I have learned will be different than that of other English speaking people; the Brits and the Aussies to name two. Post your 'cultural' idiom, I would enjoy reading (if there lies a need, then write to us what your idiom represents so we can all understand.)

If you are an ESL'er, make an attempt to post an English idiom... one you have learned or one you just researched for this post (and tell us why you like it.) Don't forget to post an idiom in your native language, as well.

I'll start.
Post as many idioms as you like, but Iask one thing... please try to post each individually; it makes for easier reading.
