Try again. The inventory system maintenance appears as resolved now:

[RESOLVED 6:55 AM PDT, 29 July 2013] The scheduled inventory database maintenance has been completed.

[Posted 3:18pm PDT, 30 July 2013]  We will be undergoing scheduled inventory server maintenance starting tomorrow morning at 5:30am PDT, Wednesday 31 July 2013. During this time, some residents may be logged off and be temporarily unable to log in for a brief period. This maintenance may disrupt transactions, log ins and inventory functions in world.
