UPDATE/how do i give my friend permission to edit an item in my inventory? i'm not using firestorm.

I'm new on SL and I purchased a home, but I'm trying to edit some items and I'm havng some trouble. My friend tries to help through skype but i think he uses firestorm and i don't, and he keeps mentioning a button i don't have and is losing his patience. How do i just give him editing rights?

See, that's the thing. on both of your instructions, once i get to the gear icon, there isn't a permissions option.

Here you go... [sL Viewer Instructions]

1) Crtl-Shift-F to pop up the Friends Dialog

2) Scroll thru the Online or All list and select his name

3) Right-Mouse click on his name and display his Profile

4) On the right side of dialog screen select the gear and choose Permissions

5) Check the Permissions you want him to have.

6) After reading the warning, press the Save button.

Remember to revoke his permissions once everything is completed.

After looking at your screen graphic it's clear that the Permissions option is not available.

Can any SL Answers Mac Users please confirm this issue and the instructions we have provided?

If this is a widespread issue on MAC PCs a JIRA needs to be opened up.

View his profile with the default SL viewer, Look for a Gear/Cog and click it. It should have options to give him permissions
